PANDA HEAT AUTOMATED STRATEGY
Note: Having the Auto will trade for you,
which will not require you to know the HEAT method.
The Panda Heat trading methodology (released in 2010)
has now been automated for NinjaTrader 7. The strategy is designed
to take only the Heat’s safest trade setups, trading with
the trend and when in earliest agreement with Panda’s custom
MACD and market pressure indicators. All back-testing results use
a 4 tick profit target with a 6 tick stop loss. The strategy has
been averaging 1 to 5 trades a day in the morning session (9:35am-
11:30am).
The Heat Automated Trader delivers these important
benefits:
Near 100 percent automated trading
Relatively low draw-downs
Consistent gains
Based upon proven, live trading methodology
One of the things that often characterizes an automated strategy
is their wild volatility between profits and draw-downs. Although
the Heat strategy does not end up positive every day or every week,
back-testing (link at bottom) has shown the draw-downs to be relatively
small in favor of delivering consistent gains.
The strategy has a number of different settings that
allow it to be customized such as trading time, number of contracts
and profit targets. While users are encouraged to test different
settings, all back-tested results use a 4 tick profit target with
a 6 tick stop loss, trading 1 contract in the morning session. (And
all other settings were left unchanged using their default values.)
The strategy is easy to run and executed like any
other NinjaTrader strategy. Before the trading session begins, simply
load a 400 tick chart for the S&P emini and then load the heat
strategy. Select one of your trading accounts, enable the strategy,
and it’s ready to go. (It is recommended that users run the
strategy using a simulated account before going live.)
One of the benefits of developing the Heat’s
auto strategy, is that the Panda Heat trading system was commercially
released over a year ago and is being traded profitably by discretionary
Heat traders. And because of this proven track record of live trading,
there is much less concern for curving-fitting when back-testing
over longer date ranges - it is really one of the best ways for
developing an auto-bot since, on the contrary, strategies born out
of system analytics require much more rigorous computational testing
to disprove curve-fitting.
The Panda Heat automated strategy is available now
for release. Trading more than one contract yeilds much better risk/reward.
You can set your own targets but I suggest take the second contract
off at 8 ticks, which will make risk/reward = 1. If you are interested
in more than 2 contracts or lifetime purchase of the autotrader
